So I found myself comforting these. In the bed. MY bed. (well, okay. Just one of them was scared of the thunder, the other one just takes advantage of the situation.)
As we await Faye, I feel your pain with the weather!@
We have a new member of the family. I will blog about him this week. His name is Oliver and he is a beautiful, albeit haughty, Siamese. He is the new man in my life and he does have the most gorgeous blue eyes I have ever seen.
My little guy doesn't like the thunder either. He usually manages a snuggle on our bed. Fortunately Shiloh (the BIG dog) doesn't try to get up there. There isn't room for ALL of us.
Just wondering....did you try offering them some cocoa and a warm blanket first, or did you go straight to offering up your bed as the sacraficial comfort token? SSHHH, please do not tell my Missile about the bed option...so far the cocoa and warm blanket work.
It's their bed and they allow you to share it. I have 4 cats that let me sleep with them...I appreciate it too. Bless them. I only wish they'd make up their own bed. It would seem only fair. LOL
I would be scared of your dogs, even though you say they're gentle babies. I'm just skeert. How come my 5lb dog isn't afraid of thunder but of strange things like baseball caps on floors?
We had a boxer, and she was absolutely terrified of a storm! She always ran to my folks' bed, too! Loved your pics!!! How funny to have 2 of them in your bed! Not much room for the humans, was there? LOL They are 2 very lucky dogs, I can see that!!!! i just love people who are good to animals!!!
So you have a new pet...Oliver! I have an Oliver, too. His pic is posted on the sidebar on my blog. He jsut had a bout with kidney stones/crystals. I wrote about it....it was a horrible ordeal!!! So he is on Prescription Diet CD food now, and I give him 30cc extra water every day by syringe....but not all at the same time. He won't swallow the urinary acidifier tablets! I paid $23 for 50 of them, and now he won't swallow them! He's supposed to take 1 every 12 hours. Have to watch male cats for kidney blockage like that. I was told that had I not taken him to the emergency clinic that night that he would've died by morning from a bursted bladder and toxicity! He's my baby!!! Anxious to see a pic of your Oliver now! He sounds gorgeous! I take in strays, so mine are nothing fancy, but I love all 33 of them!!! LOL

Aw, even poofy strangers get scared sometimes, Diane.

Loved your pictures. Such sweet "babies!"
They are so perty!! I loved the expressions!

Aww, what sweet big babies. Were you ever able to get some sleep?
Dogs are really just big babies when it comes to storms! My 3 dogs are the same way.
Those things are HUGE! What kind are they? Do they want a little tiny furry friend?

I hear the Herki are quite quirky.
Am I knee-jerky? Wait, I think I combined tear jerker and knee slapper..oh well, going with it anyway..

Too funny, Diane!
Is there still room for the human occupants of the bed when it's all said and done?
Looks awful tight! :-)
LOL! They sure are beautiful, though. I am seriously laughing at Cindy's comment...:D

How adorable they are! You are their mama. :) My dog has developed a fear of storms just recently and I wake up to her heavy panting in my face. Ugh!
totally cracked up out loud! funny stuff!
Luke did okay through the thunder and lighting.
Your babies are so cute

Who was scared more? You or the two BIG dogs!? LOL
Love it...
Love the dogs! So cute. I have 2 Boston Terriers (about 15 lbs each). A little different sleeping with them, than your 2 I suspect!
